Keeping to Lifeline’s mission of serving our Rogers Park neighborhood, we have had long-standing University Partnerships with Loyola University, just a few blocks away, along with the University of Chicago and Trinity College/Chicago Semester, for whom we provide both short- and long-term programs. In the short term, we offer individual theatre classes a complete experience combining performances, guest lectures with adaptors and directors, and behind-the-scenes tours of our theatre space. In the long term, we provide semester-long internships in all areas of theatre administration and production, where students directly apprentice with full-time staff in the box office, scene shop, rehearsal space, and more, getting comprehensive on-the-job training for a myriad of professions in the theatre.

Also in the commitment to our neighborhood, we have had a long-standing Library Partnership with our local Rogers Park Branch, where we conduct our dynamic family-centered Stories Come Alive! workshops in advance of each of our KidSeries shows, and provide free tickets for preview performances to families in the neighborhood who may not otherwise be able to afford local theatre productions. The Stories Come Alive! program starts with an interactive storytelling session of the book upon which the play is based, followed by on-your-feet theatre games to explore the characters, plot, and themes in the story.
